The Challenge

When Disaster Strikes,
Every Hour Counts

Natural disasters don't discriminate โ€” but their impact falls hardest on the most vulnerable. In rural Uttar Pradesh, communities living in kutcha houses near flood-prone rivers can lose everything overnight: their homes, food stocks, documents, and livelihoods.

Government relief often takes days or weeks to arrive. In those critical first hours, families have no clean water, no food, no medicines, and nowhere to go. Children are separated from parents, elderly are stranded, and entire villages become inaccessible.

Our Approach

How ACD Responds
When It Matters Most

Speed, coordination, and community trust โ€” these are the pillars of our disaster response system.

01

24-Hour Mobilization

Our field volunteers, already embedded in local communities, become first responders within hours โ€” not days. We don't wait for official notifications to start moving.

02

Relief Kit Assembly

Pre-packed emergency kits containing food rations (rice, dal, oil), clean water, medicines, blankets, hygiene essentials, and tarpaulins for temporary shelter.

03

Door-to-Door Delivery

Our teams go house to house in affected areas, ensuring no family is missed โ€” especially the elderly, disabled, and households with young children who can't reach distribution points.

04

Medical First Aid

Basic medical assistance including wound treatment, ORS for dehydration, fever medication, and referrals to the nearest functioning health centers for serious cases.

05

Government Coordination

We work hand-in-hand with local administration, police, and disaster management authorities to ensure our efforts complement โ€” not duplicate โ€” official relief operations.

06

Post-Disaster Rebuilding

After immediate relief, we stay to help communities rebuild โ€” assisting with temporary housing, restoring water sources, and ensuring children return to school as quickly as possible.
