Why ACD exists, what we believe, and how we work - in plain terms, with no placeholders.
Our organisation was born out of a deeply felt need to support the most vulnerable families in Uttar Pradesh. Seeing children miss out on basic schooling due to poverty, and families struggling for food or facing sudden crises without a safety net, inspired us to step in.
We started this journey in Prayagraj to bridge these gaps - ensuring that no child is left behind, and that emergency help is always within reach for those who need it most. What began as a response to families on the ghats has grown into a set of programs reaching 12+ districts across Uttar Pradesh.

ACD exists to ensure that every child - regardless of gender, caste, religion, or economic background - has the opportunity to complete their education, grow up healthy, and live free from exploitation and harm. We work to mobilise people - individuals, communities, corporations, and governments - to take shared responsibility for children's wellbeing. We believe lasting change happens when people don't just donate, but actively participate in building a better environment for children around them.
A world where every child grows up with the freedom to learn, dream, and thrive - where no child is left behind because of poverty, gender, or circumstance.
Children come first. Every program decision is measured against one question: does this genuinely improve a child's life?
Change from the ground up. We work directly with families and communities, not around them.
Transparency and accountability. We report openly on how funds are used and what impact they create.
Rights, not charity. We see children as rights-holders, not recipients of goodwill.
Change doesn't happen from a single point of intervention - it takes work at every level that shapes a child's life.
Helping parents understand and act on their children's developmental, educational and health needs.
Mobilising teachers, health workers and local leaders to take collective responsibility for children's wellbeing.
Partnering with local government bodies and schools to strengthen access to education, healthcare and child protection.
Advocating at the district and state level for stronger protections and better implementation of existing child rights laws.
Creating spaces where children's own voices and participation shape the programs meant to serve them.

Whether it's a donation, your time, or spreading the word - there's a place for you in ACD's work.
